Where it all began
2023’s torrent of mind-blowing open source model breakthroughs were in abundance cracking open a new frontier for artists. AI Models were suddenly limitless; utilizing them wasn’t. To close that gap, we focused first on personal sovereignty: a macOS prototype that let anyone generate images locally, free of high subscription fees and privacy trade-offs.
Once that spark caught (to the tune of 75,000 downloads), a bigger idea emerged. Underused compute powers (GPUs) were everywhere, from regular workstations to gaming setups. We envisioned a globally shared compute system — permissionless, censorship-resistant, led by the very people who create.
This is how, in October 2024, we released our Sogni Supernet: a network that binds together those underused GPUs to support the fastest creative tool suite there is. The cool part? Any dev can now access our code to implement Al-image generation at crazy speed.
Today, our Supernet sustains bursts of 1.7 million images a day (at peak), demonstrating that decentralized compute isn’t a theory: it’s running, and it scales. Now, it’s time to rewind on Testnet highlights and wins, in plain English and with numbers.

Mechanics of Sogni Supernet
Open-source models handed creators the blueprints, but not the horsepower. We needed an engine — one you could trust on your own machine and scale beyond it when needed.
That engine became the Sogni Supernet: a permissionless engine that stitches together underused compute power (GPUs) from studios, gaming rigs, and office Macs. Built on Base L2, it pays “Workers” in $SOGNI tokens for the cycles they share, and routes jobs down 2 simple lanes:
- Relaxed tier (powered by Mac machines): 16 images ≈ 24 seconds
- Fast tier (powered by NVIDIA machines): 16 images ≈ 4 seconds
The Testnet, Today
Now that you know what’s powering the magic, here’s how the Testnet has grown since its launch:
The Leaderboards: The Testnet’s Heartbeat
From the first day of Testnet, every airdrop has run through the leaderboards. We kicked off with three races (create-to-earn, power-to-earn, invite-to-earn), and now there are four — added just to keep things fair as the crowd keeps growing.
During Testnet Phase 3, Workers (power-to-earn) and super-referrers (invite-to-earn) were funneling piles of test-tokens into image creation (create-to-earn), rocketing ahead of artists who could only burn what they earned through their own renders. The staking leaderboard was a way for us to fix that by rewarding big holders for staking ( = burning) instead of outspending artists.
Net effect
- Creators get their own breathing room — burning tokens from creative work, not someone else’s stash.
- Workers & Referrers still earn big but now have a dedicated burn board that doesn’t crowd artists.
- Newcomers land on level ground thanks to the reset and the shorter window.
- Everyone plays inside a transparent, paginated system they can audit in real time.

Phase timeline at a glance
Why tack on 8 more weeks?
Because big launches are messy in the best possible way. Right now, we’re juggling smart-contract audits, handshake calls with market makers, and a couple of exchange listing queues. Cutting corners isn’t an option, so we pushed Phase 4 out to 1 July 2025, buying ourselves breathing room and giving everyone else more time to play.
What the bonus stretch brings:
- Double rewards: the pool jumps to 20M SOGNI (same 6.667 M/month cadence).
- Wider net: Airdrops now reach the top 10,000 slots on every leaderboard.
- Better leaderboards: full pagination for all five boards — in this phase 74,812 artists, 7,002 referrers, 53,327 stakers — plus a shiny “Days Active” column so you can flex consistency.
- New snapshot: circle 1 July 2025. If audits clear early, we might snap sooner, but that’s the safe date.
Call it a sanity buffer, call it a victory lap, either way, it’s more time to rack up renders and ship cool stuff before TGE lights up.
Sogni Creative Ecosystem
Open-source models are only half the story; you still need tools that feel good in real hands. Our goal is to keep that balance — top-shelf output, zero-friction UX, and code anyone can inspect or fork. To do it, we build a full stack that reaches from the browser down to the GPU driver.
